Complimentary Consultation Call
First things first, identifying your needs as a prospective client. A complimentary, 15-minute consultation accomplishes just that while helping to get us acquainted. During this initial discussion with Kim, you’ll share your vision and the anticipated scope of the design or renovation project. Ultimately, this consultation will help us determine if we’ll be a good fit for one another.
The guided pre-design meeting can be considered the official kick-off to the design process. All pressure aside, at this point in the process, DeMars Architecture & Design guides clients through a questionnaire curated to get to the root of your vision. It is intended to help Kim understand how you live, work and play in your home. We will walk away from our meeting with valuable intel to inform the concept design phase.
Design & Development
Equipped with valuable information gleaned from the pre-design meeting, Kim begins the concept design phase where ideas start to take shape. You are presented schematic design options for both the interior layout and the exterior style. As the design is developed, you are given the opportunity to make revisions and refine all aspects of your home working collaboratively with Kim as your trusted guide. 3D modeling is used during this process to help you visualize the final product. When you feel confident in all of the decisions made, DeMars Architecture & Design will move forward with your drawings for construction.
The finishing touches are put on the design as we complete your construction drawings. This set of documents gives your builder what he needs to get a permit and execute your vision. Construction documents will include floor and roof plans, elevations, details, schedules, and far more than we need to get into just now.
As an add-on service, Kim often provides construction administration to provide on-site guidance to the contractor and his team. In this role, she meets with the team regularly, addresses questions and oversees work for consistency with the construction drawings.
